Birthday Pancakes

For my son's first birthday we wanted to do something special for breakfast.  My creative husband came up with a birthday cake pancake.  He put the pancake batter into a plastic squirt bottle and took the lid off and poured the pancake batter on the frying pan.  Once the pancake was cooked we put homemade strawberry jam on the candle.  We used a slice of banana for the candle's flame.

  1. What a cute idea! I love how you used a squeeze bottle do make your shapes with batter. Such a great technique - you could probably use it to write their names in the pancakes (I guess you'd just have to write them backward so they come up on the right side when you flip them!) Happy first birthday to your little guy!

    1. Aida, thanks for stopping by. We also used it to make the number 1 and letter R. You can even leave the lid on the bottle for it to come out smoother and thin.
